The greater Sunshine Coast region provides a stunning variety of environmental areas to use for day (and extended) programs. The most commonly used sites include Chambers Island, Shelly Beach, Maroochy River, Upper Noosa River, Buderim Forest Park, the Maroochy Botanical Gardens and many more.
Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff aim to keep travel expenses to a minimum for visiting schools and will endeavour to utilise areas close to the school that will link in with the school’s curriculum requirements. Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff will even investigate areas close to the visiting school to research and plan environmental activities that would complement the school’s program.
At all times, Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff are conscious of environmental impacts of visiting groups, and programs can incorporate activities designed to maintain and help the local ecosystems being used.
