The greater Sunshine Coast region provides a stunning variety of environmentally significant areas to use for day (and extended) programs. The most commonly used sites include Chambers Island, Shelly Beach, Maroochy River, Upper Noosa River, Buderim Forest Park, the Maroochy Botanical Gardens and many more.
Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff aim to keep travel expenses to a minimum for visiting schools and will endeavour to utilise areas close to the school that will link in with the school’s curriculum requirements. Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff will investigate areas close to the visiting school to research and plan environmental activities that complement the school’s program.
At all times, Sunshine Coast Environmental Education Centre staff are conscious of the impacts that visiting groups can have on the environment. Programs are designed to minimise harm and can incorporate activities that maintain and support those local ecosystems.
